Joslyn Clark's line of medium voltage starters and medium voltage motor control products incorporate many safety and efficiency features that produce a compact, effective medium voltage motor control.

Joslyn Clark's medium voltage starters make use of the Joslyn Clark vacuum contactor. The starters are designed with safety in mind Segregated high-voltage and low-voltage compartments protect operator from exposure to high voltage when working with medium voltage starter. Additionally, these medium voltage motor control products feature a fault make load break disconnect switch with viewing window to ensure that the disconnect blades are grounded properly. The disconnect switch handle is interlocked with the medium voltage motor control access door: Medium voltage door will not open unless the switch has been opened and the blades grounded. These vacuum contactors are 3-phase, electrically held devices with 120 AC closing coils. Additionally, each medium voltage motor control system includes 2 normally open and 2 normally closed auxiliary contacts One 750VA rated control potential transformer with two primary and one low voltage fuse provides 120 VAC control power.

Joslyn Clark medium voltage starters are designed to comply with NEMA ICS2-324 class E2 controllers and UL 347 standards. Motor control enclosures are available in NEMA 12 or NEMA 3R. These medium voltage starters offer grounded metal isolation between the low voltage, medium voltage, and the load break disconnect switch compartment. These medium voltage motor control systems employ a striker-pin loaded 3-phase trip bar, designed to prevent single-phasing in the event of a fuse blowing. Additionally, these medium voltage motor control products utilize three current transformers and class 20 thermal bimetal overload relay for motor overload protection.
